A living home for Kenya’s mangrove and seagrass knowledge, with methods, training, tools and case studies that practitioners can use to conserve, restore and account for Blue Carbon. The hub is designed to stand on its own beyond the project period.
Why Blue Carbon Matters Here
Kenya’s coast contains high value mangroves and seagrasses that store large amounts of carbon, protect shorelines and support livelihoods. Strengthening assessment, monitoring and governance helps turn these ecosystems into durable climate and community assets. Community projects such as Mikoko Pamoja and Vanga Blue Forest demonstrate verified climate and income benefits.
